Did You Get A Ticket in Dallas?
Whether you are just considering whether you want to take defensive driving for you ticket, or you have already paid your court fee and have a deadline to turn in your defensive driving certificate to the court presiding over your ticket, our site is here to help.
The first and most important step in the defensive driving course process is to make sure that you properly follow the steps provided by the police officer at the time of the ticket. If you would like to keep the ticket off your driving record to avoid any points, you need to contact the court to find out if that is an option for you. If approved, you will pay a court fee and be given a deadline date (typically 90 days from the request date) to provide them with your defensive driving course certificate of completion.
It is important to note that our course is approved and licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). This means that our certificate of completion will be accepted by the court for eligible moving violations. The course is approved for statewide use. There really is no such thing as a Dallas Defensive Driving online course, since no course has only information pertaining to the Dallas or surrounding area.
Steps to Getting Your Defensive Driving Certificate
When it comes to the most flexible and convenient way to take a defensive driving course, online offers unmatched flexibility and convenience. Our course offers you the ability to register and access the course anytime (24 hours by 7 days a week) from anywhere you have internet access.
You can log in and out of the course at your pace and the course automatically saves your progress. Simply log out of the course and when you come back it will pick up at the furthest unit and page you completed.
This is a major improvement for anyone who can’t find the time to sit in a live classroom for six straight hours on a Saturday or over two weeknights.
Ticket Dismissal and Insurance Discount
Our course is approved for both traffic ticket dismissal and/or insurance discount purposes. When you register for the course you will have the option to choose your reason for taking the course. If you choose “Ticket Dismissal”, when you complete the course you will be sent a certificate of completion that has two parts. The top portion needs your signature and needs to be delivered to the court before their deadline. The bottom portion can be given to your auto insurance company representative for any applicable discounts. If you choose “Insurance Discount” as your reason for taking the course, you will receive a single certificate that can be given to your insurance representative if they offer a discount. The insurance certificate will not be accepted by Texas courts for a ticket.
Certificates are sent via the US mail as part of the $25 course fee. Most customers will receive their certificate within 3-5 business days. If you need your certificate faster, express delivery options are available (2 business day, overnight, priority overnight) for an extra fee during registration or post course completion.
