Step 1 – Register for your online defensive driving course:
Texas defensive driving online courses should be simple and secure. In just a couple minutes you can successfully create your account and be given your unique login code that is used to login and out of the course as needed.
For immediate course access, the course payment must be made with a valid credit card or debit card.
For your safety and security, our site used SSL encryption technology to guarantee that your entire course experience is safe, secure, and fully protected against fraud.
Step 2 – Complete the online defensive driving course:
Upon completion of the registration, you will be given access to Unit 1 of the course curriculum.
The course is available 24/7 from anywhere you have internet access and on any internet enabled device (PC, Laptop, Tablet, or Smartphone). You can take the course from your home, work, or on the go and the site will automatically save your progress. At any point in the course you can log out and the course will pick up at that same point the next time you log back in.
You might be wondering if there is a test. There is no final exam, but you will be required to pass a short quiz at the end of each unit (six total). You are given three attempts to pass each unit quiz (70%) and you have the option to go back and review the unit if needed.
Step 3 – Receive your certificate of completion:
Once you complete the course you will be sent a certificate of completion via your chosen delivery method. Certificates are sent via email by default as part of the $25 course price. We also offer US Mail and Express Overnight for a fee that you can choose at registration. Details for each delivery method are as follows:
Email – certificates are sent out via email at 10AM, 1PM, and 4PM CST on each business day (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays).
US Mail and Express Overnight – certificates sent via US Mail or Express Overnight are processed and sent out at 3PM CST each business day. (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays). Completions after 3PM on business day, on weekends or on holidays will go out the following business day. If you successfully complete the course by 3 PM Central Time on any business day (Monday – Friday, excluding holidays), your certificate of completion will be processed and sent out the same day. Otherwise, your certificate will be sent out the following business day.
The ticket dismissal certificate of completion that you will receive contains an upper “Court” portion that you must sign and provide to the Court on or before their deadline, and a lower “Insurance” portion that can be turned into your insurance company representative for any applicable defensive driving course discounts. If you take the course for insurance purposes only, you will get a insurance discount only certificate that cannot be used for traffic ticket purposes.
